Croup is a viral or bacterial infection, leading to swelling of the upper airway. Symptoms include; difficulty breathing, high pitched breath sounds and a harsh barking cough. Children most commonly affected are between 6 months – 5 years of age. If you suspect croup, seek urgent medical attention.
